Oscar Weekend
Some years ago, my friend Sarah and I made a pact that we would see every movie that was up for that year's Oscar before the show was on. I believe we both failed. Since that year, however, I believe that we both still try to see as many of the movies we can before the Academy Awards are presented. I admit that in the past 4 years or so this task has been a bit unrealistic for me.
I have seen a fair number of this year's nominees: ~ JUNO! ~ No County For Old Men ~ Atonement ~ Transformers ~ The Bourne Ultimatum ~ Ratatouille
Okay, so not a great number, but I think it may be more than last year. I love watching the Oscars and all the hoopla that surrounds it. Last year was VERY FUN for me as ellen hosted, and I know that I don't have to remind you that ellen is da bomb.
I will let you in on a little secret despite the fact that telling you actually lessens my chances of winning. ellen has another contest going on where you make Oscar predictions (you must get 15/24 correct) to be entered into a pot whose prize is a trip for two to Orlando and to view a taping of the ellen show when it goes on location to Universal Studios. We haven't yet decided on our plans for Oscar night. My guess is that it will include dinner out with friends (for Jon's birthday-- though we haven't yet tried to find a sitter) and then back home to enjoy the big screen version of the Academy Awards. In honor of another friend, I think I may just pick up a pint of Ben and Jerry's for the occasion.
