Quick Rundown

One thing I learned this past weekend is that I am not very good at making Oscar predictions. I only got 11/24 correct.  Lame.

I enjoyed the Oscars.  I always do.  I missed a few award presentations because Joel and I were in transit (it's all good as they were three I predicted incorrectly), but I did watch as Diablo Cody received an Oscar for best original screenplay.  I admit that I was beyond excited to see her win and as I saw the tears on her face... well, I couldn't help it-- suddenly there were tears on my face.  I cried with her.  I'm such a sap.  Needless to say, I was glad for her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That there was what I typed up a few days ago and then never made it back to finish.  I wonder what else I was going to say.  My guess is that I was going to bore you so it's a good thing that I walked away.
It is a busy time around here so I'll just give you the quick rundown.
  • Kaylee's first birthday party was on Saturday.  It was a barnyard theme and everyone had a ton of fun/
  • In honor of her 1st birthday (which is tomorrow), Kaylee has decided it is time to walk.  Way to go!
  • Marissa is having a CT scan done today.  For details, read Jill's post.  Keep her (and her momma and daddy) in your thoughts and prayers.
  • Xaden is trying to tell knock knock jokes.
  • Xaden pooped on the potty!
  • Adiana is very attached to our growing collection of My Little Ponies (she even purchased one with her own money).
  • Aselya didn't cry the last two times I brought her to school.
  • Garth Brooks was on ellen on Monday.  I watched it two times and both times I teared up when he told the story of how his wife (Trisha Yearwood) walked the Breast Cancer 3-day for their three young girls as "who knows what their future holds."  He has put out a special pink edition of a CD where all the proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen foundation.  Not only did I enjoy his spirit and intention, but he gave a couple of great performances on the show.  It was a real treat.
  • We are watching American Idol this season (umm... hello... no new shows due to the writer's strike) and we're enjoying it.  Thank goodness for being able to fast forward through commercials or we'd never survive.
I suppose that is all I have to say for now.  We're just hanging out around here waiting for spring...
