Done. Done. And Done.
I am finished with winter. Done. Kaput. Over. Out. Finished. Get a move on. I'm tired of cold, snow, bundling up, and most of all: sick.
Each of us has had a bout of something. Joel went through a bout of flu and currently has a head cold. I have the same cold. I think Adiana does too. Xaden had a cold and has gotten over it. But the very best is the vomiting that ensued last night.
I was innocently making dinner/putting dishes away when from the dining room comes the sound of a vomiting child. Indeed, Aselya had done just that. I was not so pleasantly reminded of exactly what Aselya had eaten for lunch earlier in the day. She sat with us at dinner and tried to drink a bit of a generic lemon-lime soda. Initially she believed her tummy liked it, but after a drink or two she realized that in fact that was not good stuff. I guess it is a drawback to not allowing your kids to have soda.
In any case, she seemed to be doing fine. We settled on the couch to read Horton Hatches an Egg, and just as Horton became a circus performer Aselya vomited. She managed to vomit on me, herself, the couch, and a blanket, but she (thankfully and narrowly) missed the library book.
She took a bath and headed off to bed. About 3:30 a.m., Joel and I were visited by our sick child. She claimed to be thirsty. I thought it in her best interest to avoid allowing anything to enter her little body, but she was insistent and persistent so we let her have a small drink of water. We were rewarded with a quick return to the bathroom where the water was returned to the drain (yet in a different form).
This morning she seems to be doing fine. A few minutes ago, she ate some chicken soup and we're hoping she manages to keep it in her system for a bit. Keep your fingers crossed for her. Also, let's hope that the other kids (or I) do not start vomiting.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In other news, Marissa's CT scan went as well as it could yesterday. Marissa was a great patient and the scan was normal (relief abounds). At this point, her eye behavior is being diagnosed as a tic. As an added precaution, she will get an MRI. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers you've sent their way and please continue to keep the situation lifted up in prayer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I think that is all I have in me for now. Go over and wish Miss Kaylee a happy first birthday today! We had the pleasure of spending the morning with her yesterday and she is just a sweet little ball of fun, laughter, and squeals. |
